Will the role of Workplace Health and Safety Officer still be around after Harmonisation?

There is a lot of misinformation going about at the moment in relation to the Cert IV in OHS qualification and the WHSO courses after harmonisation takes place.
Although there will not be a legal requirement, the role of the WHSO will still be needed after 2011.
